Psalm 126: A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem.

When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream!We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!Restore our fortunes, Lord,as streams renew the desert. Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed,but they sing as they return with the harvest. When life has placed you between a rock and a hard place sometimes all you got to do is worship your God! Worship him while you are in exile, declare his goodness. God does not seize being God because we have stopped worshiping. God Is, Was and Will always be God.Shall the rocks cry out in your place and praise him? Lift up a banner of praise and adore His Majestic excellence. You may never know the reasons why some of the things you are going through have happened but you know what! He will never take you or allow you to be taken where His grace cannot sustain you. It is well Child of the Most High. "For great is his love for you, higher than the heavens;His faithfulness reaches to the skies." Psalm 108.

Live life to the fullest!

One can never really get to a point where they can say, I’m whole, I am perfectly done and will never make a mistake or act silly again. Why is it that despite all the tools, the advise, the lessons and the experiences noone can ever stand say, “I am done, I'm now perfectly perfect!” Who are we to think we can become perfect....I think we are our worst enemies, we beat ourselves up, we attach ourselves to perfectionism ideologies and beliefs yet I stand to be corrected: Can one really ever be perfected?

More and more I am realizing that life is not about being perfect but about dusting yourself up each time you fall and moving on. It’s not about how many times you are on the ground but like a basket ball its all about bouncing back up into the hands of your maker. Its time we learn to be free as children of God. Free enough to explore life without fear of making mistakes.I believe God intended for us to be so free that He didn’t plant us on one place like trees! Yet though planted trees shake, bloom and live to the fullest...what a lesson! We were blessed with the ability to move, to see, to experience through adventure and travel yet we limit ourselves afraid of making mistakes. Yet in trying so hard not to make mistakes we make so many!

I want to live, live like I have never lived before, I want to love, love passionately, I want to learn, learn and apply what I learn through travel, adventure and Life! And in the process, I don’t mind making mistakes…because I know that I can not be perfect. I like the quote that says; “Life is a journey and its not about arriving at the grave safely in a well preserved body but to skid in sideways, totally worn out shouting…whoa what a ride!”

Dispelling fear through God's word

The American Heritage dictionary defines fear as 'an extreme reverance or awe towards a supreme power'. This definition got me thinking; a child of God should never be afraid, allowing fear into your life is submitting oneself to its master. God never gave us a spirit of fear but of love, peace and a sound mind! We should fear nothing and noone but God.To fear God means to humbly entrust yourself to His power and faithfulness. If you fear God then he becomes your sanctuary,the place of safety amidst the storms of life.

See when one is afraid they start painting pictures that do not exist, but you know what..studies have found out that the subconscious mind does not know the difference between a mental picture and reality. So whatever you paint in your mind your subconscious mind believes it to be true! The reason we are always encouraged to visualise the future that we want to see is that whatever your subconcious mind believes to be true will manifest in material reality! Fear is not your portion as a born again believer, it imprisons, paralyses, disheartens, sickens and leaves you hopeless and useless. Trust God and have faith that He is our refuge and strength, our ever present help in times of need. He is the Lord of Hosts (mighty ruler of angels), the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, (faithful to keep His promises). If you belong to this God and entrust yourself to Him he will strengthen you and help you dispel all your fears.

The real antidote to our fears is the Word of God.It records God's track record of His faithfulness to His people. It helps you to also focus and affirm His character rather than your fears. It builds you up in your most holy faith. Faith dispels fears, faith liberates, faith empowers, encourages and heals! One writer wrote; "Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death!" I believe as you begin to meditate on His word you become who God created you to be, you begin to walk in authority as a believer.

I will conclude by a statement that Oswald Chambers wrote, he says; "The remarkable thing about fearing God is that when you fear God you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God you fear everything else."
Be encouraged, Take authority as a believer right this very moment! Fear will hinder your ability to be of Service to God!

A CRY FOR ZIMBABWE

I wrote this Poem just around the time I stopped blogging. See,I live in Zimbabwe and at that time things were so bad....now Zimbabwe is on its road to recovery.... God heard our cries..hes bringing healing to our nation...Faith is more than a channel through which we receive special favours; it is a calling, a daily walk. It is not just an optional extra but an everyday necessity…the issue here is inescapable – We live by faith or we do not live at all.In Zimbabwe we learnt and endured through Faith.To all the Zimbabweans who stayed, who journeyed with God through it all. I salute you.I believe this poem will make others understand what we went through.Im glad to be back on my blog!Missed you all.

A CRY FOR ZIMBABWE

Crushed to the core, shattered and distraught;
Our hearts are broken; we are grief- stricken and wretched.
So much pain, so much loss, it’s a hurting sting.
We sleep in tears crying out; we wake up to agony.

Merely striving to subsist we are;
As we make a crack at fulfilling our God given purposes;
We are persuaded that there is a way somehow.
An alleyway, a conduit, our way to break out!

Like sheep, we are being slaughtered daily,
The god of earth has taken so many lives now.
Some are growing weary everyday.
Show yourself strong again in us my God.

Give us a renewed strength and Hope.
Show us the ray of light at the end of this tunnel.
Rescue the blameless souls in this nation.
Deliver us from the injustices that we are being drawn into.

Is this an iniquity that is eating upon our land?
This is too intense to bear, too heart rending to endure.
Our hearts cry out to the Lord Elohim.
We trust in you, we know when we call you come to our rescue.

Some days it feels like our lives are just passing us by,
Like everything is on hold, like we are going backwards.
Like we are being pulled unknowingly into an abyss;
Yet we are still confident of your presence.

The comforting touch, sweet soft mushy feel of your Spirit;
Your joy, your peace; are the statures on which we stand.
Your love, your mercy and kindness all around us!
We live to tell of your goodness after this experience.

Arise oh God and let our enemies be scattered!
Tear down, uproot and replant again;
Forgive, reinstate, restore and rebuild;
Until we as a nation achieve our God given purpose;

Zimbabwe the Switzerland of Africa;
The breadbasket of this continent and the world!
The beautiful land endowed with God’s glory;
A land forever flowing of milk and honey. The End

Conviction Series

Part 2)

I haven’t blogged in a while, lots of thoughts, lessons and experiences on conviction but just wanted to gather my thoughts and write in a way that is more meaningful and less jumbled up. My sister is now well Glory be to God!
The study of conviction has been fascinating, it’s been an interesting journey and in this post I will conclude. It may resurface again later maybe because I feel such an urge to study it further.

Conviction and Faith.
When one is a person of conviction their level of Faith is increased, their manner of Prayer changes. Hebrews defines faith as 'the assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen!' Faith and conviction go hand in hand; you cannot have one without the other! To put it in simpler terms, faith is the vision, the picture; conviction on the other hand is the drive. It supports the picture, the vision. Conviction knows beyond a shadow of doubt that things will work out in a certain way.

Conviction and Peace
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
When one is led by a conviction they are at peace, their mind is at rest because they know God is in control. They are not afraid of an unexpected outcome to their situation because they know they have already received even though it has not yet come to pass.

Conviction and Patience
Even if it takes forever, one who is a man or woman of conviction waits, there is a level of steadiness about this person. They are not moved by the wind, neither do they look to man but to God.

Conviction and Encouragement
1Sa 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
When one encourages themselves in the Lord they know God is got their back, they know God will not let them down. A man or woman of conviction encourages her/himself in the Lord! One does not wait for encouragement from man but from within, this can also be through positive affirmations to oneself.

I hope to hear from you readers, let’s share ideas about this interesting topic!

Conviction Series …

Part 1)

So many people have done so many daring and bold things…one would stop to wonder...what really made them do it? Many great men who have achieved significance in life have taken steps that no one has taken, steps most people wouldn’t dare take…what led them? What made them go on…..?

My spiritual father left USA at age 26 to come to Africa-Zimbabwe over 28years ago…A young man he was, never heard about Rhodesia never been to Africa… but he came…how did he do it? William Tyndale strangled and burnt choosing to die for you and I to have an English Bible today. What made him believe dying would solve his plea to the Kings of England? I’m inspired by his last words, "Lord, open the king of England's eyes." This prayer was answered three years later, in the publication of King Henry VIII’s 1539 English “Great Bible”
Other great men to note are Martin Luther, Mahatma Gandhi, Oral Roberts, Winston Churchill and our very own Nelson Mandela?

Conviction is a strong persuasion that something will happen; it is a trust, a confidence, sureness or certainty in what has not yet happened. It is an unshakable belief without need for proof or evidence or a firmly held belief; as other scholars would define it.
Over the next few weeks I will expound on conviction, I believe it is and important tool that God uses to communicate with us yet only a few have tapped into it. My spiritual father always says we need to be men and women of conviction…..I never quite knew what he meant until God showed me through a difficult experience that I wrote in my previous blog.

Now I can look back and say so many other doors have opened through God speaking to me through conviction. Nowadays I look for conviction in any area of my life or situation where there is unsure ness…it’s almost like a gut feeling! It’s knowing beyond a shadow of doubt that God is saying something, knowing that He is in control, not doubting him but having full confidence and trust in Him, in His word.

When you begin to walk in conviction here is what takes place;

1. You become a person who holds on.
It reminds me of what God, means when he says in Isaiah 41:10 Don’t panic. I'm with you. There's no need to fear for I'm your God. I'll give you strength. I'll help you. I'll hold you steady; keep a firm grip on you.
Like our father we need to keep a firm grip on the promises God has given us…We need to hold tight to what we know is true. My spiritual dad always talks about being men and women of conviction…letting the Spirit of God that is inside us persuade us, instill in us a trust and a confidence of a positive outcome concerning each and every situation we face.

2. You are led by faith not by your senses.
This is where what you see, feel, hear, taste and smell seizes to matter but God! What he has said, what you know, your conviction..
The roots of the meaning of the word ‘conviction’ are linked to the word ‘passion’..You begin to move with passion, with zeal…your passion which of course is very linked to your purpose!

To be continued……….(I will expound more on these points and also on how conviction is linked to Faith in the next blog.)

It's been a while....

Well,i know its been a long while since I blogged...techincal challenges,exams,work,ministry..but anyways life is good.

Want to talk about Conviction..
Have you ever had times where you know that you know that you know...that something is true or is gonna happen..
I recently went thru a bad experience and before i knew it the Spirit of God started ministering to me,he asked me to calm down,he asked me to;
1.Ask God,
2.Trust Him
3.Focus.
After I prayed I immediately felt a deep conviction that the situation was going to be okay,that God wld see to it that it works well.What amazes me till today is that I didnt open my Bible,I dint to speak to anyone but I felt convinced God spoke to my heart and gave me a conviction of the truth of the matter.Confronting the situation,the sight was paralysing,I wanted to doubt the conviction I had,I wanted to cry..,I turned away and hoped when I'd look back God would show me a better picture.Turned around and the situation was still the same...My Spirit broke out in prayer..I poured out,In trust,in faith convinced that it was God who spoke into my heart that it was going to be okay. "As I laid my hands on her she moved her hand slightly..I knew,I knew..God is faithful.She would live and not die!live to declare the praises of God in the land of the living!"
As I write today,its been over two weeks the situation is still not better but I have never been even more convinced that its all going to be okay,I know God is faithful.I have since asked God what a conviction is...what it means...there is so much I have learnt...Mary when she got pregnant with Jesus,Daniel in the lion's Den, Daniel's friends in the fury furnace,Joseph in the dungeon,Abram when he left his home to a land he did not know...do you guys think conviction played a part?

I am going to talk more about conviction in my next blog..do send your comments.
