Dispelling fear through God's word

The American Heritage dictionary defines fear as 'an extreme reverance or awe towards a supreme power'. This definition got me thinking; a child of God should never be afraid, allowing fear into your life is submitting oneself to its master. God never gave us a spirit of fear but of love, peace and a sound mind! We should fear nothing and noone but God.To fear God means to humbly entrust yourself to His power and faithfulness. If you fear God then he becomes your sanctuary,the place of safety amidst the storms of life.

See when one is afraid they start painting pictures that do not exist, but you know what..studies have found out that the subconscious mind does not know the difference between a mental picture and reality. So whatever you paint in your mind your subconscious mind believes it to be true! The reason we are always encouraged to visualise the future that we want to see is that whatever your subconcious mind believes to be true will manifest in material reality! Fear is not your portion as a born again believer, it imprisons, paralyses, disheartens, sickens and leaves you hopeless and useless. Trust God and have faith that He is our refuge and strength, our ever present help in times of need. He is the Lord of Hosts (mighty ruler of angels), the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, (faithful to keep His promises). If you belong to this God and entrust yourself to Him he will strengthen you and help you dispel all your fears.

The real antidote to our fears is the Word of God.It records God's track record of His faithfulness to His people. It helps you to also focus and affirm His character rather than your fears. It builds you up in your most holy faith. Faith dispels fears, faith liberates, faith empowers, encourages and heals! One writer wrote; "Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death!" I believe as you begin to meditate on His word you become who God created you to be, you begin to walk in authority as a believer.

I will conclude by a statement that Oswald Chambers wrote, he says; "The remarkable thing about fearing God is that when you fear God you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God you fear everything else."
Be encouraged, Take authority as a believer right this very moment! Fear will hinder your ability to be of Service to God!

A CRY FOR ZIMBABWE

I wrote this Poem just around the time I stopped blogging. See,I live in Zimbabwe and at that time things were so bad....now Zimbabwe is on its road to recovery.... God heard our cries..hes bringing healing to our nation...Faith is more than a channel through which we receive special favours; it is a calling, a daily walk. It is not just an optional extra but an everyday necessity…the issue here is inescapable – We live by faith or we do not live at all.In Zimbabwe we learnt and endured through Faith.To all the Zimbabweans who stayed, who journeyed with God through it all. I salute you.I believe this poem will make others understand what we went through.Im glad to be back on my blog!Missed you all.

A CRY FOR ZIMBABWE

Crushed to the core, shattered and distraught;
Our hearts are broken; we are grief- stricken and wretched.
So much pain, so much loss, it’s a hurting sting.
We sleep in tears crying out; we wake up to agony.

Merely striving to subsist we are;
As we make a crack at fulfilling our God given purposes;
We are persuaded that there is a way somehow.
An alleyway, a conduit, our way to break out!

Like sheep, we are being slaughtered daily,
The god of earth has taken so many lives now.
Some are growing weary everyday.
Show yourself strong again in us my God.

Give us a renewed strength and Hope.
Show us the ray of light at the end of this tunnel.
Rescue the blameless souls in this nation.
Deliver us from the injustices that we are being drawn into.

Is this an iniquity that is eating upon our land?
This is too intense to bear, too heart rending to endure.
Our hearts cry out to the Lord Elohim.
We trust in you, we know when we call you come to our rescue.

Some days it feels like our lives are just passing us by,
Like everything is on hold, like we are going backwards.
Like we are being pulled unknowingly into an abyss;
Yet we are still confident of your presence.

The comforting touch, sweet soft mushy feel of your Spirit;
Your joy, your peace; are the statures on which we stand.
Your love, your mercy and kindness all around us!
We live to tell of your goodness after this experience.

Arise oh God and let our enemies be scattered!
Tear down, uproot and replant again;
Forgive, reinstate, restore and rebuild;
Until we as a nation achieve our God given purpose;

Zimbabwe the Switzerland of Africa;
The breadbasket of this continent and the world!
The beautiful land endowed with God’s glory;
A land forever flowing of milk and honey. The End
